Model for Frequency Comb Generation in Single-Section Quantum Well Diode Lasers

We present a new, traveling-wave model for single-section quantum well diode lasers. We find that strong four-wave mixing based upon the gain grating, coupled with longitudinal spatial hole burning, allows for frequency comb generation.
