Abstract: Summary form only given. To confirm the feasibility of our proposed current driven photonic crystal laser diode (PC-LD) used for wavelength division multiplex (WDM) applications, finite difference time domain simulations were performed. We found that the lasing wavelength is linearly increasing when increasing the radius of the circular cavity. In the wavelength range from 1300 to 1320 nm, Q-factors of the cavities are always larger than 7000. These results meet requirements for PC-LD used in WDM applications.
