10-times Frequency Noise Reduction of a Tuneable Semiconductor Laser via an Incoherent Optical-Feedback

An order-of-magnitude frequency noise reduction of a low cost tuneable semiconductor laser is presented. The stabilized-laser is used as local oscillator in the successful coherent detection of DP-12GBaud-QAM4/16/64 (48/96/144 Gbit/s) signals.
