Realization of all-optical logic gates using injection locking in a distributed feedback laser diode

In this article, we experimentally demonstrate an all-optical inverter and NOR logic working at 10 Gbit/s using injection locking technique in a Distributed Feedback laser diode. The proposed optical inverter operate at 10 Gb/s with very good extinction ratio of around 15 dB with a power penalty of only 2 dB at BER of 10−9.
