Circuit Modelling of Semiconductor Lasers open site

This paper reviews the various techniques employed in the circuit modelling of a semiconductor laser. Principles of static and dynamic modelling are briefly discussed. The rate equations used in the analysis of the semiconductor laser are presented. The circuit modelling technique which is gaining popularity due to its easy implementation using general purpose circuit analysis programe is discussed in detail. The paper also reports some recent developments in the field of circuit modelling of semiconductor laser diodes that are applicable to advanced laser configurations.
