Two New High Performance Industrial Laser Diodes

The Optoelectronics Company is delighted to introduce 2 new visible wavelength laser diodes from USHIO Opto Semiconductors, Inc., a global provider of optical devices.

The first is the HL63263DG, a red laser diode developed primarily for use in show laser systems, which offers a world-beating output power of 200mW at a lasing wavelength of 638nm in a tiny 5.6mm package.

The second is the HL63253MG, a 637nm red laser diode intended for information and industrial usage which also offers very high optical output power of 450mW.

The most important requirements of the laser diodes used in laser light show systems are brightness and clarity. They must have a high visibility, high quality, short wavelength beam which allows for good coupling efficiency with the optics used in laser projection and high optical output power.
Before the new HL63263DG diode was developed, USHIO Opto Semiconductors, Inc. supplied show laser and pico projector OEMs with their market-leading HL63133DG 170mW red laser diode.
However, by refining its processes and optimising the laser structure, the active layers and the facet coating, USHIO has created the HL63263DG 200mW red semiconductor laser diode which fulfils all the criteria OEMs demand: superior performance, high brightness and exceptional beam quality, energy efficiency and long lifetime, all in a compact 5.6mm package.

The USHIO HL63253MG is a 637nm visible red wavelength laser diode with multi-transverse mode operation, exceptionally high brightness and optical output power of 450mW.
It offers TM mode oscillation, directionality and high monochromaticity in a tiny 5.6mm industrial standard CAN package. High monochromaticity and directionality give the laser beam a small wavelength spread and low divergence so it can be focused to a very small spot size, resulting in high radiance.

The USHIO HL63253MG high power, multi-transverse mode laser diode is particularly suitable
as a light source for optical, industrial and information applications and for use in laser modules.
